Repentance is leaving behind old ways that don’t please God in order to walk in ways that please Him.
While being a believer, it produces godly sorrow and a heart surrendered to do God’s will.
A simple: “God forgive me,” does it or every day building a habit of checking the heart and saying:
“God, forgive me for my sins. I confess them all even the unconfessed. Reveal to me anything that must be changed in my life and walk or if I offended you in any way so I can walk freely in my salvation. In Jesus name, amen.”
Feeling hurt based on your conduct and words that don’t please God is feeling repentance. But it’s not just feeling that repentance but placing it into action. See this is the struggle humans face: “do I please myself, people or do I please God through His Spirit’s guidance?”
Regret expressed as guilt and never forgiving yourself for your mistakes doesn’t please God.
Regret expressed in guilt and feeling like you aren’t forgiven by God and you’re still filthy is not the regret God wants you to practice as a firm believer of The Gospel of Jesus Christ that sets free.
For whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior means that you are repenting and admitting you’re a sinner in need of God.
You can’t walk this earth in pride because God will put you to go through tough times due to the results of your pride. Be humble and repent. Rather suffer as a righteous person than a puffed-up (pride) person. Sufferings are unavoidable. Be free in The Lord and in the power of His reconciliation. It starts with you making the decision to REPENT and turn from your wicked ways and let God shine His light on you. Although it’s allowed by the law (some practices due to free will) (I’m not saying rebel against the government) (I’m implying you to use the freedom you’ve gained under your government to serve God and turn from your ways, turn to the Messiah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords because He’s looking for YOU and He’s been waiting for you and He’s speaking to You CONSTANTLY. His mercies are new every morning! Repentance is renewed every morning but please when you go into prayer humble yourself and ask God to cleanse you, reveal to you what doesn’t please HIM. Not by might. By His Spirit. Not by your strength. But by His Spirit.
why repentance is key to your Christian walk:
Repentance is key to your Christian walk because Acts 3:19 says so.
Acts 3:19: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. (kjv)
If you want refreshment in His Spirit, REPENT.
2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (kjv)
HUMBLE YOURSELF AND SEEK GOD. HE’LL HEAL WHAT NEEDS TO BE HEALED. GOD NEEDS YOU TO REPENT IN ORDER TO USE YOU.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) IT FREES YOU FROM THE MINDSET OF: “SIN IS OKAY.”
2 Peter 3:9, God wants us to repent. That’s His will for our lives & Acts 17:30, Acts 2:38.
the acceptable repentance of the Father: God:
The acceptable repentance of God The Father is a heart fully rooted and grounded in His Truth. Not moved by religion, not moved by societal norms that are made up simply by someone deciding that by the top of their head they’re going to create some type of knowledge that never even emerged from God The Father.
The acceptable repentance of God is seeing you not do the very thing you said you wouldn’t do.
However, I would say that there are people that despite their tries of trying to please God….their problem is far beyond the human eye and it’s spiritual and they have spiritual bondages that need to be broken in THE NAME OF JESUS. SOME COME OUT THROUGH PRAYER AND FASTING (MATTHEW 17: 21).
the not acceptable repentance that does not please God:
Repentance that claims: “Sorry God, I feel bad.” But then does it again. Uhm, no. It doesn’t work that way.
It will never work that way. Repeating unhealthy cycles not only messes up your relationship with God. But it pauses the work God wants to do in you.
Don’t believe this false doctrine that you can be saved and commit as much sin as you want to and still be forgiven. Uhm no. You’re living under grace, not law (when it pertains to God’s Word).
You’re forgiven when you decide to leave that sin and turn your heart to serve God. We all are called to serve God. Col.3:23 speaks about doing things as unto The Lord. That’s a command for all of us. If your call is not to be a pastor, don’t worry. You’re still called to serve God outside of the altar.
some examples of what to repent of:
-Unhealthy mentality cycles.
-Unhealthy soul ties (fornication, imagery worship, idolatry, and false imaginations of a person being yours).
-Unhealthy feeding of your Spirit.
Everything may be allowed but not all things edify. That’s what the Bible says.
Receive the good, reject the bad.
-Gluttony (excessive eating), lying, small white lies, speaking things you shouldn’t be speaking about, the list can go on.
when the Holy Spirit convicts you of sin:
Alright, I’ve had this experience in the past. Due to the sensitivity of what I’m about to say. I won’t go into too many details. But I had an experience where I was in the wrong place. Keep this in mind. I was learning about cultivating a genuine relationship with God on my own. God was trying with me. I literally felt the holy spirit make me feel sorrow. I immediately cried to The Lord after my mistake and asked God to forgive me. This is to show you that you can’t be feeding yourself Spiritual knowledge, praying, fasting, studying the Bible, serving God, worshipping God, and going back to the flesh. God won’t have it. The Spirit is against the flesh. The flesh equals death. The Spirit gives life.
That’s a small testimony.
This was in the past.
Now I don’t make the same mistake. That’s thanks to my relationship with God’s Holy Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit convicts you, you will feel like you failed God. But you can fall 7 times and God picks you up.
Ephesians 4:30.
ungodly pursuits to repent of:
-Jobs that go against God’s word.
-Doctrine that clearly is added to the Bible instead of being emerged and consumed from the Bible.
-Trying to over-perceive the word of God when it’s plain in sight that some mysteries of the Bible are hidden.
-Denying the power of godliness just because you have this mentality that it’s just not for you.
-Going places where the holy spirit is not moving but the flesh is.
-Watching things that are 100% corrupted and there’s no edification, or educational purpose behind it, although it has flaws.
the humility within repentance:
Humility is accepting the fact that it’s not about you but about God.
Don’t look at repentance as a way of self-denial. But a way of humility towards the fact that it’s no longer you who live but Christ Jesus who lives in you.
You can’t walk this walk thinking that you’re 100% good with God. Even those that God uses have to be in constant communion with God and in order to do so, they need to repent of folly, sin, and immoral acts in order for God to use them again. Depending on the level of sin committed and exposed in public. God can restore someone that fell if they repent and He can put them back in the pulpit. It’s God’s job to cleanse, and judge, your job? Correct the wrong and keep going on with your life.
It starts with repentance. Repentance is key to having a humble heart that is submitted to God’s word and not the feelings and opinions of others.
John the Baptist’s evangelism of repentance:
Scripture: Matthew 3:1-15
John the Baptist preached repentance.
That way he can reach multitudes by evangelizing about repenting for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
He was fulfilling His call as a follower of God’s word to tell others about the good news.
John the Baptist had no filter when it came to correction. He did exactly as the Father wanted him to do and eventually got martyred.
Repentance will cost you because people will hate the new you (some, not all).
But you’ll need discernment to know whose for you and whose not.
The point is, John the Baptist’s story shows an example of a heart fully surrendered to God’s plans for his life.
walking in continual repentance:
Walking in continual repentance is not just talking to God to fix you and to forgive you. It means turning from the kingdom of darkness into His marvelous light.
There’s hope in Jesus alone.
There’s so much hope in Jesus alone.
Trust that repentance is key within Jesus Christ to The Father.
Repent from sins that destroy you. All sin corrupts you, even if it looks innocent and look to God.
God’s not done with you yet.
Trust God in this step within the adoption of being His Son and Daughter.
why you should repent:
You should repent because it’s God’s will for you to do so. It’s not hard to repent if you truly want a genuine relationship with a Holy God. The Holy God, you need to live in continual repentance because when you were reconciled to Him, it was through Jesus’s sacrifice at the cross of calvary so you need to be very grateful for that. It was never about you, about what can come from you. But what God is ready to deposit in you the moment you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Repentance frees you from the destructive mentality that you can cleanse yourself from folly and hidden sins instead of letting God do His job.
The work is not yours but it’s your job to take that step of faith and do what you need to do.
repentance prayer for you:
God, may you reserve the soul reading this for the day of being with you in paradise. Keep them safe from the things of this world that don’t please you. Preserve them from all evil and use them for your glory, honor, and purposes. May repentance become a lifestyle for them as there are days that will try to get them out of your path, but you are merciful enough to reach a helping hand out to them. Help them not lose their salvation and maintain strong admits to the world we live in. In Jesus’s name, I ask that you’ll help them not forget about the Gospel that frees souls from captivity. In Jesus’s name, I pray, amen.
