Salvation is saving from the corruption of sin(s). Only obtained through Jesus Christ (for a believer).
Salvation is a gift freely given to us through Jesus Christ (The Savior of the world) (The Messiah). The gift was freely given so that we will be saved from our sins.
What’s sin you may ask?:
Sin is what doesn’t please God. The things that not only separate us from God, but from God for eternity and not only that but intervenes with a personal relationship with God. Sin only destroys. That’s why God sent His only Begotten Son (Jesus Christ), The Word of God manifested in Flesh form to save us from our sins. The Bible speaks about all of us fallen short of God’s Glory. Meaning the way we’ve behaved, acted and thought weren’t quite aligned with God’s Word.
Based on the standards God originally had for His church, there’s no longer a need to sacrifice animals on an altar like the servants of God did in the Old Testament times. But the act of their sacrificial love for God should be an example we should apply with our intentional servitude to God.
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus came down in the Flesh to save us all from our sins. He didn’t come with the intention to save the rich only. He came to save both rich, poor, and middle-class people. Jesus wants all to be saved and come to a knowledge of the TRUTH.
The truth is that none of the possessions of this world matter. What matters is what God has stated in His Word. What matters is what God has declared in His Word and one thing God has commanded through His Spirit is for us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
You can’t expect to walk this life broken and bruised. You have to learn to walk it out according to what Jesus would want you to do. Salvation comes through one Man and His name is Jesus. If we read:
1 Peter 2:24 and Matthew 27. We see what Jesus has done for us.
Think about it, ponder it, and reflect on this truth. A Man, who some didn’t believe in, was miraculously born of a virgin Mary because this is God’s story we are talking about. I’m not talking about just any story. This is how God wanted and decided to save the world from their sins. God could have sent Jesus in another way but no, He decided through birth to bring the promise of The Messiah to His people. His people were going through a lot and God never abandoned them. In the same way God never abandoned them, He will never abandon you through your walk of salvation.
If you don’t have Jesus and you don’t understand what Jesus has done for you. It’s a matter of just believing. Taking that step to just believe means that you’ve accepted the gift of faith to steward it God’s way. Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life and be baptized with His Holy Spirit.
The gift of His Spirit is to guide you into all knowledge of His truth. There are things we can’t understand from the Word of God if we don’t ask The Holy Spirit to teach us and make us understand. There are things that we will never understand.
My bible reading testimony:
I tend to read and meditate on the Word of God every day. It keeps my mind on wisdom God wants me to focus on and I feel so much peace about that.
Jesus wants a relationship with you. He knows what you’re going through and He doesn’t like the fact that you’re going through it alone. Jesus wants to promise you so much but He wants you to stop focusing on the things of this world and just hold on to Him. What’s currently occurring in this day and age can’t compare to what’s going to occur later on. Nothing and no one can stop Jesus coming again. He came once and we can see how He’s orchestrating His ways through His church. We see that sin is not allowed in some churches and we see that what He spoke about lukewarmness not being to His liking, there’s still faithful followers of His ministry. Although He was rejected by many, His ministry stays standing and I do believe Jesus is happy with the little as much as with the big. But Jesus isn’t happy with those that aren’t saved. That’s why He sends people to preach The Truth. So that souls can be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. He still loves them, but He feels sorrow when rejected.
Although you may not know about Jesus and His ministry, you can find His ministry through Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. Jesus walked on earth, went through tough times, was humble enough to sit with those of low status and same with those who were of high status. Never judged those that were surrounding Him but would warn them , encourage, motivate, and prophesy to them. Jesus was many things to many people and to me He’s my everything. He saved me from so much deception, corruption, and He wants to do the same with you. He saved me from wrongful thinking, thinking patterns not aligned with His truth, and what He says that I am in His Word. Throughout my salvation journey, I had doubts of whether or not I was actually saved and I thought it was wrong to feel that way but now that I’m where I’m at, I saw that God was spiritually drawing me near to Him and calling me near to Him because He knew what would come for me. He knew the heavy spiritual attacks that would surround my life just because I decided to take that step of faith and enter His kingdom calling of salvation. No more doubting my salvation. Neither should you.
One thing I would tell you is that don’t expect for everything to run smoothly. There will be times when all you feel like doing is crying and running from the issues that come your way. We can’t control a pandemic, we can’t control sickness, we can’t control natural disasters. Even if there were solutions, we can’t. We can’t control other’s actions. What we can control is ours and how we react to things. It starts with salvation. As a Christian or believer of The Truth. . . It starts with salvation.
1 Peter 4:16: Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. (kjv)
As a saved person you will start to feel uncomfortable with entertaining certain conversations, certain gatherings, certain beliefs, and certain movements just to please God. It happened to me, it has happened to others that I know. It will happen to you too. As you start to take your relationship with God seriously that is.
Certain lifestyle choices no longer will suit you because all you would want to do is God’s will.
Certain opportunities that come your way, you won’t care about losing because all you would want to do is do God’s will.
Certain offers of friendships will no longer sit with you well because all you want to do is please God. It’s not that you’re enemies with them, it’s just that what they practice you don’t. It doesn’t mean you’re rude to them, it’s just what they practice and talk about, you don’t.
Certain things you used to watch, you’ll stop watching or you will fill this pull towards those things but knowing it’s temptation. Since the devil loves to spiritually tempt people and you won’t fall into it.
How to work out your salvation with fear and trembling:
Understand the huge responsibility of being saved and don’t see it as a glooming fearful thing. See it as a joyful thing. Rejoice in your salvation. Rejoice in the fact that you’ve been saved by grace and that even though you didn’t deserve it, God was merciful enough to send a quote, a message, a song, preaching, or teaching to capture your attention.
Accept the fact that salvation was given out of love. Not to hate you. Not to hurt you. But to help you. God loves you so much and He wants you to be saved because He doesn’t want you to go through things alone. This world falls apart without God. Without acknowledging God this world will fall apart.
There’s so much emphasis on worldly distractions that lead people away from the truth. I’m letting you know right now that it’s not worth losing your salvation over things you can’t control.
To-do:
-Grab a bible.
-Start your relationship with God through prayer. Start praying for yourself, your struggles, deepest hurts, what you’re currently going through, etc.
-Later on, incorporating fasting.
Fasting is a spiritual practice where you sit out time to seek God’s face, get filled with His word, and Spirit where God can reveal and break chains in regards to a spiritual matter. The same God of the Old Testament is the same God of the new. Fasting can be:
Not eating between 6am-12pm in order to seek His face but once after 12pm, you can eat your lunch and dinner.
The same would apply if you decide not to eat breakfast and lunch but yes to dinner or do a 21-day Daniel-inspired fast (where no meat is involved, only veggies and everything not considered meat).
Breaking a fast is not okay. So be warned, the devil or demon can tempt a soul to break it.
Examples of fasting would be: for revelation of a matter, for God to break generational curses, or to simply honor God’s Word and to get filled spiritually.
We must be prudent.
-Attendance of church (do not forsake the assembly of the saints of the Church of God) helps your walk, it ministers to you, and you have a part to play as the body of Christ.
Protecting your salvation:
Protect your salvation by walking by the spirit and not gratifying the desires of the flesh. 2 Corinthians 5:7 and Galatians 5.
Don’t fear human opinion.
Nor what man can do to you just because you have faith.
2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 41:10, 1 John 4:18, Psalms 34:4, Proverbs 29:25, Psalms 56:3, Romans 8:15, Isaiah 43:1.
Proverbs 19:23
Romans 8:38-39
Matthew 10:28
What to expect once you do accept it:
-The Holy Spirit prompting you to change your behavior.
-People wanting you to answer them when they have questions about why you decided to make such a drastic decision.
-People to leave.
-The right people to stay.
-People not agreeing with your views.
-People wanting to agree with your views but are battling inwardly with spiritual forces.
-Seeing drastic change and fruit of being saved.
Once you’re under the proper leadership and you want to dedicate your life to God and physically demonstrate that NEW LIFE and NEW CREATION IN CHRIST JESUS: get baptized.
